Let me begin by saying that January as a whole has brought about some pretty eye opening closures to life, lessons, relationships, and existence. For many we hit the ground running into the New Year, fully ready to press forward toward the light of new beginnings. There were also many public figures passing on who seemed to affect many on a deeply personal level. By the time this last week rolled around, the energy really brought the realization that although the calendar says it is 2016, the business of creating closure from last year has really taken this entire month.
We did experience a Mercury Retrograde from January 5th – the 25th and I believe that this is part of the reason there was a feeling we had much to clean up, and bring closure to. This particular retrograde brought a strong energy of “scrubbing the data”, as I like to call it. Taking out all of the little extras that are not needed; dusting the cobwebs from the corners that are hard to reach; sweating out the last of the toxins that are no longer necessary for our body, mind, heart and soul to move fully forward into the process of manifestation and creation. All of these things that make their way out of our system make way for some beautiful things to happen. In this month it seemed that many were able to journey to a space of clear communication with those around them as well as within. Offering an ability to be precise about what the exact desired manifestation is, gives a well cleared path for those desires to be met. This clear foundation for creation can feel like an illusion at times but when we allow ourselves space to find what we truly desire, the fog clears and illusion can move toward reality.
As for last week, which seemed to begin rather quietly, turned out to be a whopper of a few days. Early in the week was a lot of attention on acknowledgement of the ego body. I look at ego as the part of our existence that overrules the heart’s knowing and desires. Spiritually, ego sets us up for deep feelings of separateness, a duality of our own being from others. The spirit works to keep us connected to our truest heart and also to others. The ego works to be sure we know we are separate or more “special” than others. When ego is more dominant it begins to feel like a lot about “I” and “me”, it also can push to make us feel as though we know what is best for others, despite what they feel is best for them. This of course is human nature, however in the spiritual process the less you function from ego, the deeper you can experience spirit. If ego is creating some push and pull energy for you, remember to breath and connect to the present moment. Presence is the fastest way to take the focus and energy away from the duality of the ego, so remember as you breathe to focus on touch, taste, sight, and sound. Pay attention to what you feel in the moment and trust that it is important and relevant.
The last few days of the week were full of the intensity of standing up and facing the past but in a way that had not been used before, with special regard to the realization of things hidden below the surface. These hidden energies carried an intensity that literally took the breath away, but that can happen when we hear thoughts and feelings that we didn’t realize were there to begin with. When these intense situations happen remember to ask yourself, “Is this about me or them?” If you feel that it is about them and it still carries some emotional pull for you, then you have an opportunity to embrace your part of it. This will create the freedom to recognize what belongs to you and what doesn’t, which is a huge benefit especially to those who tend to be deeply affected by other’s emotions.
It was a crazy week and month but remember that you have the ability to bring yourself into the present at any moment of your choosing. Empower yourself and keep moving forward!
