Sensing back into last week, I feel such an underlying emotion present. It amazes me that when these emotions come to the surface they are so intense and still so penetrating. Last week brought with it many clear signs that were significant to the healing process I experienced on so many levels of my being. It seems that for each of us the symbols the universe provided to make us aware of the deep healing that was ensuing, showed up so differently. This is so that we could interpret the direct message for us, as it is very different than the message for another. I have begun to trust how these messages come through (FINALLY!!), after years of questioning and over thinking. You might have experienced this recently, even during last week.
So, what were some of these signs and symbols and how can you work with them when they arrive? Signs and symbols are a mysterious offerings from the universe, which guide you in one way or another. These signs show up in different manifestations to bring you messages that allow your journey forward to prosper in some way. Last week was full of little bits and clues meant to lead you into a deeper understanding of the space you are in right now. Some of these signs show up as animal totems which bring messages of light and knowledge. The animals from last week were reminding you to acknowledge your dreams and aspirations, and to travel forward with your strong sense of knowing. Confidence can be a tool that sends you toward accomplishing your dreams and last week was a force of light for many. This full surrender to honoring your ability may have come to the surface and asked you to step up into your life or your purpose, or both. For some, you may have felt challenged by this belief that you are able and prepared to receive greatness in some form, however, for others this felt like the flow swept you into the place you knew you were destined for.
There were also totem lessons of understanding with regard to your relationships and how they worked with you on accomplishing a desired outcome. These relationships could have been with any or all things in life, such as food, people, jobs, challenges, etc. The energy and space around these relations may have left you feeling a little hazy in the beginning of the week. When this happens it was easy to feel challenged by all there was to do, as things moved toward you quickly and without warning. In these moments, the totems coming forward are reminding you that it is ok to stand your ground and establish a boundary on how this information is received. This can help you embody a new found freedom and a feeling of connection to the different relationships in your life. It helps to build trust in those hazy moments, that your inner animal instinct will always bring you to the source of love and light that exists as who you are within those relationships. This haze did seem to clear itself up by the weekend giving us a chance to take a deep breath and offering a clear path to accept and move forward.
With animal totems it is a matter of paying attention to the ones that show themselves to you. This could be as simple as noticing a crow squawking at you in an unusual way; noticing a painting of a grouping of wolves that you had passed by many times without noticing; a fish swimming around you while you play in the lake. They are the moments that call for a second to pause, even if it seems or feels silly. Sometimes the signs and symbols arrive to us as any form of nature or life. Your daydreams can include specific trees, flowers or herbs. Sometimes the notion is of the elements that make up all living things such as air, water, fire, earth or cosmic energy. Trust yourself and the inherent beings of light that are guiding you throughout this journey you are on. Life is constantly giving us feedback and the universe is always working to lead us on our path.
(One of my favorite resources for animal totems is the book by Ted Andrews called: Animal Speak: The Spiritual & Magical Powers of Creatures Great and Small. )
