Everyone has a point where they realize that life is not the same as it was before, and no matter how hard we try, it is impossible to go back to the way things were. During these moments of realization, we have an opportunity to become something greater than we were before and see our true potential for existence. Of course, with each choice there is an opposing leg of the journey that is up for grabs, which offers a pathway familiar to us. One that we have potentially chosen before or at least something close enough to get us the same or similar outcome we have already had. I found that making the same choices no longer would suit me and chose a different way, the way of opening deeper and seeing a new perspective. With this came some heartache and of course some anger, because change is usually uncomfortable and challenging.
With the Summer Solstice/Full Moon combo approaching last week, the energy around and within was fierce. It seemed that there were a lot of different triggers, all trying to light a spark of madness that you could feed on for a time. These triggers came out in forms of wild spirit, angered behavior of others, and life bring the challenges of the unexpected and unplanned almost making the air around you volatile in some spaces. When spirit decides to make its presence known, anyone who is sensitive is going to feel it. You know if the energy feels familiar or is unknown to you at the time and there are things you can do to neutralize the space. Firstly if spirit speaks to you in any form (visually, audient, or through physical sense) try to breathe and not be alarmed. Sense the energy of it and ask your spiritual guides to come be with you and keep you safe. Also know that you can ask for spirit to leave and ask your guides to escort spirit to the light or the completion of their journey. You may also use protective stones such as obsidian, tourmaline, or smoky quartz by carrying them with you or placing them around your home or property with the intention of keeping out negativity. Another option is to smudge the space and yourself by burning sage to clear any negative energies as well as basil leaf to restrict and cleanse any unknown spirits from the space. Other herbs you can use for protection and positive energy is rosemary, lavender and lemongrass.
You might have noticed that last week people were not completely themselves and there is a great possibility that you observed your own anger set in the space of another’s behavior. The funny thing is, that it is more difficult to see it in yourself than in others, however the way you responded or reacted speaks to the level at which you were able to process your own emotion. When you are in the space of anger, yours or another’s, you are going to feel it intensely and that is going to provide a trigger setting off reactions of all different emotions as anger is usually what comes from the pain of the emotions hidden beneath the surface. Allowing yourself to recognize that you are being triggered by your own experiences (most likely of the past) you begin a responsive flow within your heart and mind that starts to separate what is yours from what is not. From here you create an opportunity for a deeper self-realization to occur. Now it remains important to let go of any guilt, shame or judgement of yourself if you are unable in the moment to come away from the anger because sometimes anger needs to happen in order to release.
There were times that last week definitely felt like a smack on the back of the neck, then turning to see your own reflection staring back at you. There was a lot going on which made it easy to feel like you were being pulled off track or somehow veering off course from where you thought you were travelling within your spiritual journey. It is in the times like these that it can feel heavy or the feeling that we have come “out of our body” in a sense. This lack of connection is a powerful one that can spin you out, but also remember that you are always connected. Your soul and spirit are constant and in your journey the light is present every moment, even when it feels dark. The process will change from time to time and when you are in a “download” or point of integration, you may find that it takes all you have to be present and in the moment. This too shall pass and you may even sense a greater resonation of the light when you come out the other side.
