“The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater.” - J.R.R. Tolkien
The week had been a challenge from the very beginning. Winding down from the fullness of the week before and not much of a break before the influx of the Autumn Equinox on Thursday. I can tell you that I am feeling an intense desire to get September finished and move on. The feeling that life is not willing to move ahead is becoming daunting, and there is no doubt that some smaller places are flowing, however it feels like after all the shifts of the smaller details there would be some shifts in the larger aspects of life. The energy that was building up to the Equinox had felt as if there was a river rising and the lever to be pulled at the dam to release the pressure was waiting for some specific sign, response or reaction before it would let go. This leaves some of us a little nervous about flooding when the water (energy) is released. What then? What will happen if the water washes the dam away, or if the lever gets pulled and parts of the land on the other side flood anyway? Well, we take it one moment at a time, exactly like we have been doing within the process of moving on and moving forward.
Life, the eternal trickster, is content travelling with you on your journey, bringing your map along for directions, and never once asking you to take it out to see where you planned on travelling to. What seems to happen is the trip takes a considerably larger amount of time and you experience several dead ends and turn-arounds before you recognize a road you had planned to be on. Now this is definitely an opportunity to put your will and courage to the test, as you have a choice on what your response or reaction will be. It may have felt easy to be drug down into the hopeless abyss of feeling lost, lack, and falling to the bottom of all things. Know that when this heaviness seems like the only way you can travel, and you succumb to it, the twists and turns become more frequent and can take you away from where you were heading in the first place. Be clear that this does not mean that if you choose the light that the road will straighten out immediately but it can definitely offer some clarity about any new directions you may need to travel in order to reach your destination. It is these little zags in the road that teach you of the strength, endurance, kindness, awareness, and fierceness required for the larger aspects of life to occur.
You may have noticed that the world is changing; that humanity is being challenged by the truths and lies of its past and those energies are being exposed in the present sometimes brutally. This shows up as the water building pressure on one side of the dam. You might be feeling or witnessing the peril of the land (your life or the lives around you), beginning to flood and become chaotic with shadow creating the dark places, however, where there is darkness there is equal opportunity for light. One cannot exist without the other. If you feel the energetic flood approaching, become so present with it that you are prepared in any moment to handle it. You are strong, courageous, kind, aware and fierce, SO THAT you are not demolished by the building of the pressure, but liberated by the release of it, weather in small floods or by watching the dam be overrun by the water. It is as if you were made for this experience, and my sweet darling, you are. Now is your time to shine and put to the test all of the experience you contain from those smaller battles. The Universe will not allow anything you are not ready for and so you work through each of the smaller aspects until you have the knowledge and clarity to own the largest ones. If you can put it into perspective for all of humanity, you, continuing on with the light through the toughest times brings that positive flow to your friends, family, and eventually community. This contribution can be felt around the world and it begins with US, YOU, ME, I.
Friday night I found myself crying out, literally sobbing uncontrollably, and releasing whatever darkness I carried within. This was my liberation, my step towards the light and in this release I was able to see where the darkness was strangling my ability to live my light. What was your liberation? Where did you experience the rising up of the flood and how did you step forward? My guess is with strength, endurance, kindness, awareness, fierceness, and above all else, LOVE.
